Tommy Funk

Vice President, Land Acquisition
Tommy Funk is a fourth-generation farmer and rancher, whose roots trace back to South Texas where he worked alongside his father and grandfather. Building on this legacy, Tommy advanced to become President of his family’s agricultural operations.
Before joining Chestnut Carbon, Tommy transitioned into farmland investment and management, serving as the National Farmland Acquisitions Manager at Bank of America Private Wealth Management. In this role, he oversaw farmland acquisitions for the bank’s high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, aligning agricultural assets with strategic investment goals.
Tommy later joined Goldcrest Farm Trust as a founding partner and President during its launch phase. He played a key role in raising $600 million in capital and led the implementation of an acquisition strategy that resulted in the purchase of over 90,000 acres of irrigated farmland across seven states.
