Briana Capra

Briana Capra is a seasoned expert in validation, verification, and project design, with a career marked by meaningful impact. Currently, Briana serves as our Vice President of Carbon Strategy and Impact through which she champions co-benefits like cleaner air, healthier soils, and thriving communities, positioning Chestnut as a leader in integrity, innovation, and holistic climate solutions.

She previously held leadership roles on the Project Development team at Forest Carbon Works and later Chestnut, where she led the design and strategic delivery of Improved Forest Management and Afforestation projects across the United States, ensuring that each project meets the highest standards—including Forest Stewardship Council Forest Management certification and Verified Impact protocols. Her journey in sustainable forestry began in 2008 at the Rainforest Alliance and later Preferred by Nature, where she served as an FSC auditor and Senior Associate. She developed and implemented rigorous processes to ensure the integrity of forestry initiatives and championed responsible forest management.
